The extent of cargo theft in Germany can hardly be quantified, as no statistics are kept in this regard. In addition, many of the trucks robbed here are registered abroad and insured there, so that the number of unreported cases is far greater. How significant the problem really is, is shown for the first time by joint calculations by several trade associations with the participation of the General Association of the German Insurance Industry. According to this, loads of almost 26,000 trucks are stolen every year, so statistically criminals in Germany strike every 20 minutes. The stolen goods alone are worth 1.3 Billion Euros; further damage of 900 Million Euros is caused by contractual penalties for delivery delays, repair costs as well as lost sales and production losses for the actual customers (Source GDV).

In order to provide a remedy for this problem, we have developed our truck alarm system for tarpaulins. Our sensor tarpaulin is equipped with smart alarm electronics and can easily be attached to the truck tarpaulin from the inside. From the outside the truck alarm system cannot be seen by the thieves. As soon as the tarpaulin is cut through, the buzzer emits a loud deterrent alarm locally. If the alarm electronics are connected to a telematics box, a remote alarm can be started via Email which several people can be notified immediately. The greatest advantage of our system is, that our trailer alarm electronics can be connected to existing telematics units on the truck and used on existing portals.

How is the process?

Depending on the extent to which you want cargo theft protection, simply install the components listed below on the trucks. The sensor tarpaulins are attached to the left and right of the trailer. These can simply be welded on. The smart tarpaulins each have alarm electronics. As soon as the truck tarpaulin is cut through, the alarm electronics trigger an alarm. In addition, another black box is installed in the truck, which can be connected to an existing telematics box. The alarm electronics on the tarpaulin can communicate wirelessly with the black box over long distances. As soon as a tarpaulin slasher becomes active, the black box is also informed. The black box itself also triggers a local loud alarm. In addition, the black box sends an alarm notification to the telematics unit, which can be used to trigger a remote alarm. The Smart Sensor Tarpaulin

The textile structure equipped with sensor technology is adapted to the needs of our customers. In order to expand the range of applicability, the developed tamper-proof alarm electronics have been miniaturized more and more. Depending on the specification, our smart tarpaulins are temperature and UV-resistant, have fire protection classes as required and are also suitable for pressure jet cleaning.

The trailer alarm system primarily enables the load securing of trailers, swap bodies and trucks and is an effective theft protection/theft prevention. The retrofit kit consists of a light, flexible PVC tarpaulin equipped with sensors. The sensors are monitored by alarm electronics - welded to the inside of the tarpaulin (truck alarm system). In the event of damage, an acoustic alarm is triggered on the tarpaulin electronics and at the same time, an encrypted signal is sent to an optional available black box. In order to be able to forward the alarm to existing telematics systems, the black box has various interfaces.

The "truck alarm system" can be configured as either an acoustic or a silent alarm. In addition to the 360 ​​° all-round protection for truck tarpaulins, it is also ideal for protecting safety-relevant components, pharmaceutical, biomedical or explosive products, containers, pallets, transport containers or bags, military or valuables transport as well as halls and gates.

The tamper-proof alarm electronics are already attached to the truck tarpaulin, which is welded onto the inside. The flat, ergonomic design does not affect the handling of the smart tarpaulin in any way.

The Black Box (E)

The black box (E) provides data for existing telematics systems via interfaces. It has a permanently installed siren with a volume of up to 115 dB. The black box has its own power supply that is self-sufficient for up to 8 years. The system is protected against manipulation - jamming attacks and covering with aluminum foil do not prevent the alarm triggering. All products are CE and ROHS certified.
